PARKER — A Parker man has been sentenced to prison for a weapons offense. La Paz County Sheriff’s deputies made contact with Elijah Silva, 29, during an October 22, 2022 traffic stop.

“Silva was found to be in possession of 9 mm handgun,” said a news release issued by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona. “Silva had a previous federal conviction for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and was prohibited from possessing a firearm as a felon.”

Silva was convicted of a felony in possession of a firearm charge in a plea agreement. United States District Judge Diane J. Humetewa ordered a 51-month prison term during a June 23 sentencing hearing in Phoenix.
