Bullhead man charged in assault with machete

BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City Police arrested Kokopelli Delray Beecher, 29, for aggravated assault and disorderly conduct with a deadly weapon after he injured a 70-year-old man with a machete at Rotary Park.

Last Friday, June 13 at about 10:20 a.m., it was reported that Beecher had temporarily stored his belongings in the victim’s vehicle. The men had known each other for a few days. According to the victim, when Beecher was retrieving his property, he was acting very agitated. The victim said he was concerned about Beecher’s demeanor and tried to stop Beecher from accessing the weapon. They reportedly got into a struggle with the machete.

The victim was treated by paramedics for two deep lacerations on his hand. Beecher was immediately taken into custody by responding law enforcement. He was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.
