EAA to host Young Eagles airplane school for kids

KINGMAN – The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 765 will be hosting a Young Eagles Rally on Saturday morning, April 12, at the Kingman Airport. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and is free to all the children in the area.

The Young Eagle program launched in 1992, giving a free plane ride to children for over 30 years.

Children ages eight through 17 will attend a short ground school and learn how the pilot controls the airplane. After the lessons, the children will then go for a ride in an airplane throughout the area. Students will receive a log book of their flight as well as a certificate.

Each child’s name will be added to the national EAA roster, which has over 2.4 million names.

Some kids that attended these short schools have gone on to become pilots for large companies as well as the military.

The event is sponsored by Kingman Regional Medical Center Foundation, Jerry Sullivan DDS., Foothills Bank and The Sutherland Law Firm. For additional information, please call David Amspoker at (928)-757-7742.
