Grand opening of LHC Sheriff’s Substation

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Sheriff Doug Schuster and his staff held a ribbon cutting ceremony of the new substation in Lake Havasu City, located just north of The Shops at Lake Havasu. The ceremony was held Thursday, February 13. Among those attending were all five county supervisors, several county department directors, multiple deputies. Lake Havasu City’s mayor, and various first responder agencies.

The new 12,000 square foot facility, which is much larger than the previous substation, houses 15 offices, a large bay garage, and a training area.

During the ceremony, Sheriff Schuster stated, “This is something that I take great pride in knowing it happened during my administration. I joined the Sheriff’s Office back in 1989 and the prior substation was in bad shape back then.” He added that “it was not ideal for law enforcement. We worked with what we had, but it was clear way back then that the building needed to be replaced. There’s been a lot of discussions over the last few years about replacing substations and I’m glad to see it finally came to fruition.”
