Search for MCC president continues

Governing board members have reviewed materials submitted by 51 people who applied to become the next President of Mohave Community College. MCC Public Information Officer James Jarman said the applicant evaluation score sheets are being tabulated by Chief Human Resources Officer Jennie Dixon.

Jarman said Dixon will present the highest scoring 6-10 applicants to members during the executive session portion of their regular board meeting next Friday.

“We hope to have three to four finalists chosen at that meeting and invited for on-campus interviews in April,” Jarman said. “The names of those finalists will be made public before their visits.”

Jarman said MCC hopes to make a hiring decision by May. Diana Stithem has been serving as interim President since Dr. Michael Kearns retired on Jan. 11.

Whomever is hired will be the 6th President in MCC history. Tenure of predecessors is as follows:

Dr. Keith West, 1971-1984

Dr. Chuck Hall, 1984-1997

Mr. Michael Tacha, 1997-2002

Dr. Thomas Henry, 2002-2007

Dr. Michael Kearns, 2007-2019
