Traffic fatality caused by medical issue

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu City police investigating a single vehicle traffic accident determined a driver suffered an unknown health issue before crashing Thursday, Dec. 19, and passing away.

Sergeant Kyle Ridgway said the incident occurred about 9:27 a.m. in the 2100 block of McCulloch Boulevard North.

“Officers determined that the driver experienced an unidentified medical emergency while traveling east on McCulloch Boulevard North.” Ridgway said. “The vehicle veered left, striking several decorative pots in the median before colliding with a light pole.”

Ridgway said lifesaving measures were initiated on scene before the driver was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center and was pronounced deceased. Identification is initially withheld, pending notification of kin.

Accident investigation continues.
