21st Annual Free Community Dinner slated

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The entire community is cordially invited to attend the 21st Annual Free Community Dinner on Friday, December 13, at the Aquatic/Community Center. The event offers two different serving times again: Early Bird serving at 4:00 p.m. (doors open at 3:30) and the second serving at 6:00 p.m. (doors open at 5:45 p.m.). Both servings are first come, first served, with up to 500 people per seating.

This dinner, hosted by the community for the community, provides a relaxed atmosphere to share a traditional holiday feast with family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who just wants a dose of great community spirit. Thanks to numerous volunteers, donors, and local business sponsors, this event continues to grow year after year.

The turkeys from Bashas’, donated by the London Bridge Rotary Club, Lake Havasu Rotary Club, Sunrise Rotary Club, Daybreakers Lions Club, and Kiwanis of Lake Havasu, are cooked by Taher Food Service and prepared by Master Chef Christopher Gallaga and W.A.V.E. Culinary and Hospitality students.  The meal includes turkey, ham, potatoes and gravy, stuffing, dinner rolls, vegetables, a choice of pie for dessert donated by Smith’s Food and Drug grocery store, and beverages donated through the Lake Havasu Firefighter Charities.

Santa is making a special appearance at both servings, with toys for girls and boys, sponsored by the River Riders Motorcycle Club. HavaPic, sponsored by Anderson Auto Group, is onsite for both servings to capture memories.
