Teen’s body recovered from Lake Havasu

LAKE HAVASU – The body of a boating accident victim was recovered from Lake Havasu Friday night, August 23. The search began Wednesday when 17-year-old Adam Gomez went missing.

Mohave County Sheriff Doug Schuster said the Redondo Beach, California resident jumped into the water from a boat. He said the operator of the boat was circling back to pick him up when the vessel and its propeller struck the teen who then slipped under the water.

Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said divers located Gomez’ body in about 23 feet of water just south of Thompson Bay at about 6:15 p.m. She said the sheriff’s office thanks the Lake Havasu City Police department for assisting in the dive search and recovery operation.
