Dear Editor,
After doing considerable research on the subject of election campaign signs in private yards and public places, every resource I find states that removing, tampering with or vandalizing campaign signs is a criminal act. The various classifications and severity assigned, range from simple misdemeanor to some very harsh and expensive felony penalties. I am sad to have to say that our County seems to have a whole bunch of low life people who certainly fit somewhere in the above categories. I am talking of the spineless, heartless scumbags who, in their evil minded way stole and hid or destroyed 120 of my friend’s campaign signs in Golden Valley. These thieves seem not to know or care that they are criminals who have violated laws of our County, our State and our Nation. These people have spat upon the very spirit of free and honorable elections.
I enjoy the privilege of knowing, liking and respecting a man who has given of himself for most of his life in and for Mohave County. Many of our neighbors and friends have benefitted over the years from their association with this man. I am speaking of Don Martin, candidate for the position of District Four County Supervisor.
Don is an honorable man, who has gone to great lengths many times to help people in time of need. He has spent many years educating people about outdoor safety and the culture of hunting honorably, as opposed to just slaughtering and wasting wild creatures.
He also spent a goodly number of years wearing a badge and working to assure the citizens of our communities that they could safely walk down our streets. His time as a sworn officer of the law was rife with daily dangers, but because he and his compatriots did risk their lives daily, the community was safe and attractive.
Now, Don wants to serve you, me and all our friends and neighbors in our County as a Supervisor. Don is willing to take on the very heavy workload and astounding time demands of this job, that most people would not touch. He is also a man who pays total attention & listens to you and only you if you are trying to make a point. If you like the idea of voting for a respectable, responsible, decent, Community loving and God fearing man, I ask that you actually vote your heart and mind. I strongly recommend Don Martin as a viable and honorable man who will do his absolute best to represent you and me and all the citizens of our wonderful county. Don is an open minded and caring person who truly believes in God and the good in humankind and will give his best efforts in seeing that you and I and our neighbors are well represented when he becomes our District Four Supervisor.
