KINGMAN – The wife of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz campaigned in Kingman on Monday, September 16 to encourage Kingman’s Democratic population to continue the campaign themselves for the 29 days until voter registration ends, with about 50 days before election day. A total of 115 Kingman Democrats attended the effort.
Walz addressed several main themes during the event, including a push for plans to stop the Project 2025 agenda, reproductive freedom, “Mr. Trump and Mr. Vance, please mind your own business,” and building an opportunity economy. Walz spoke on behalf of recent school shootings and remarks from Republican party members following the shootings. Walz stated, “I refuse to accept school shootings as a ‘fact of life.’”
Toward the end of the campaign, voters were once again urged by Walz to “turn the page” on Donald Trump. “See ya’ Mr. Trump,” the First Lady of Minnesota declared.
When speaking on behalf of her husband, Tim Walz, Gwen asserts that “Tim … sees the potential in everyone. He wants everyone to have a chance to reach that potential.” She expressed that this is possibly a different view than the opposite party. “We [Gwen, Tim, Kamala, Doug] don’t even mean just those who vote for us.”
When discussing the ideal opportunity economy, Walz explained that this would entail working hard and seeing the fruit of your efforts. “This opportunity economy is one where if you work hard, we want you to be able to get ahead, not just to scrape by.”
Walz is scheduled to continue the campaign in Las Vegas on Sept. 17.
