KRMC named 4-star hospital by CMS

KINGMAN – The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently named Kingman Regional Medical Center a 4-star hospital for Overall Hospital Quality. This distinction places KRMC among the top 24.6 percent of hospitals across the country. KRMC is the only hospital in this region of Arizona to receive a 4-star overall rating.

The Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating analyzes 46 publicly reported CMS measures divided into 5 groups: Patient Experience, Mortality, Safety of Care, Timely and Effective Care and Readmissions. CMS reviews these measures to calculate the star ratings. In total, more than 2,800 hospitals across the country reported data to CMS for consideration.

CMS began publishing star ratings in 2007. Input from stakeholders and members of the public helped shape the methodology for rating Overall Hospital Quality.

“The star rating is an excellent method to compare the quality of hospitals across the nation based on publicly reported data gathered by CMS,” said Heath Evans, CEO, Kingman Regional Medical Center. “Our commitment to provide exceptional healthcare to our patients and community is reflected in the rating.”
