Special needs agencies hosted Day for All event

LAKE HAVASU CITY  – Four incredible organizations teamed up last week for one very valuable and powerful mission; To bring children and adults with physical and intellectual challenges together for two days at the beach and a chance to participate in some awesome water sports.

The Lake Havasu Day for All took place on Friday, May 3  and Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Crazy Horse Camp Grounds.  

Rise Services, New Horizons, and Milemarkers Therapy, joined forces with Arizona Adaptive Watersports for a day filled with fun in the sun and great memories that can last a lifetime. Rise Services is an organization for people of all ages with disabilities. They offer employment services, along with day and family services. 

New Horizons on the other hand, is a nonprofit team for adults with lifelong disabilities. They provide assistance with adult day care, group homes, independent living, many other services to choose from. Milemarkers of Havasu helps children and adults with disabilities from a therapeutic standpoint. 

Their provide a variety of resourceful tools like speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and even music therapy is in the mix at their facility.  

The three agencies wanted their clients to experience exciting and exhilarating water sports out on the lake, and what better way to do this but to include Arizona Adaptive Watersports!

Arizona Adaptive Watersports was created for people of all people with disabilities to have access to the water. The faith-based group accommodates ages beginning at three years old all the way into adulthood with cognitive and physical challenges. Their services have many watersports to choose from such as waterskiing, tubing, fishing, and boating. 

The fun-filled two-day event offered an overwhelming amount of watersports that kept all participants fully engaged. Havasu’s Day for All included fishing, tubing, standard kayaking, boating, and plenty of other water activities full of excitement. The companies provided everyone with a pizza lunch along and plenty of cold beverages that kept everybody hydrated.

The Lake Havasu Day for All is a yearly spring tradition as well as another amazing opportunity to bring people of all ages with disabilities together to enjoy beautiful experiences.
