One deceased following domestic violence

MOHAVE VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office  (MCSO) is investigating a shooting death in Mohave Valley. Deputies responding at 10:53 a.m. Sunday, March 3 located Joshua Carlos Perea, 39, Mohave Valley, dead at the scene at a residence in the 8700 block of Desoto Dr.

“The investigation revealed that Perea had been shot by his girlfriend after a verbal and physical domestic violence incident,” said MCSO spokeswoman Anita Mortensen. “Detectives located and collected the handgun and several witness statements to include speaking with the other involved party.”

No further details were provided.
