A July 4 fatality is reported on the Colorado River. Bullhead City police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said a man was fatally injured and his granddaughter was hurt when the personal watercraft he was operating crashed into some rocks on the Nevada side of the Colorado River across from Davis Camp.
Authorities responding to the 1:30 p.m. accident transported both victims to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center. Claro Ponciano, 56, San Fernando Valley, California, died at the hospital while his 16 year-old granddaughter was released following treatment.
