Kingman Police staff recognized at awards ceremony

The Kingman Police Department held its 16th Annual Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 16, during National Police Week.  The 2019 Officer of the Year is Officer Adam Simonsen; Civilian Employee of the Year is Neighborhood Service Officer Sam Kurtz; Explorer of the Year is Lilith Bennett; and Volunteer of the Year is William Kriekel.

A highlight of the ceremony was when eight-year old Dylan DeWolf was recognized with a Citizens Appreciation and Life Saving Award.  Dylan was responsible for helping to save the life of another young boy who became trapped under a heavy trailer.  Dylan came to the aid of the trapped boy and then ran to get help, saving the life of his friend.
