Sportsmen’s Club to reopen

KINGMAN – After a year of pandemic lockdown and several months of preparation The Sportsmen’s Club will be reopening its doors. The Sportsmen’s Club shuttered its operation to safeguard itself and its patrons during the COVID pandemic. With all of the staff having been vaccinated, it is ready to reopen.

Originally opening its doors in 1910, it has been known as The Palace Saloon, The Deluxe, and eventually The Sportsmen’s Club. These days it simply goes by most of its patrons as “Sporty’s.” Steeped in the long history of Kingman, its roots go back to a watering hole for thirsty minors. It has been frequented by soldiers and airmen, movie stars, musicians, intellectuals, rednecks and bikers, blue-collar workers, and public servants. Office Manager Tedi Ronchetti says, “It’s a place for everyone.”

Head bartender Toryanna said that The Sportsmen’s will be reopening on Friday Jully 23 at 11 a.m. and close at 1 a.m. Toryanna stated, “There will be a zero-tolerance policy for aggressive behavior.” Excitedly she also said all beers will be $4. The Sportsmen’s has a maximum capacity for the time being of 100 patrons.

As operations ramp up, patrons can look forward to familiar faces with bartenders Toryanna, Sandy, and DeWayne behind the bar. The staff has been fully vaccinated, according to Ronchetti. She also said that the staff would be following all state COVID-19 guidelines. If you would like to attend the opening of The Sportsmen’s Club this coming Friday, you can go to 317 E Andy Devine Ave., and enjoy a beverage in beautiful downtown.
