Kingman Veteran Villas ribbon cutting Wednesday

KINGMAN – There will be a special ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Kingman Veteran Villas (2501 Veteran Way, off Hualapai Mountain Rd & Jackson) Wednesday, July 7 at 1:30pm. Each of the 48 units contain 930 Sq. Ft. of living area featuring central air and heat and a single car garage.

A number of county dignitaries are expected to be present at the ceremony, including County Supervisor Jean Bishop, County Housing Authority Director Michael Smith, and County Manager Sam Elters. Smith will be speaking, along with President of Adams Construction & Management Greg Wagner, Veterans Administration HCHV Supervisor Karen Charles, and a Veteran Villa resident. City of Kingman Mayor Jen Miles will also do a brief welcome.

The Villas project was in partnership with Mohave County Housing Authority, the Veterans Administration, Arizona Department of Housing, American Express, Rocky Mountain Community Reinvestment Corporation and US Bank. Adams Construction & Management Company built the facility.

The Kingman Veteran Villas features smart technology with hardwired smoke detectors and an automatic sprinkler system. The stove automatically shuts off if the smoke detector is triggered or if it’s not turned off for an extended period. If the system detects a window is open, the AC or heat will shut off. There will also be a tour of the facility and light refreshments will be served.
