Meth dealer gets five years

KINGMAN – Kingman women charged in unrelated drug cases made separate appearances in Mohave County Superior Court Tuesday, Nov. 10. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Doug Camacho ordered a five-year prison sentence for Amber Copsey, 25.

Copsey was credited for the 409 days she has been in custody awaiting trial. Copsey occupied a vehicle from which officers seized about 12 ounces of methamphetamine following a Sept. 27, 2019 traffic stop in the 3400 block of Stockton Hill Road.

“That is an enormous amount of methamphetamine to dump into our community,” Judge Lambert said. He noted that Copsey admitted selling drugs and that incriminating transaction activity could be detected in her cell phone text messages.

Copsey was convicted of attempted dangerous drugs for sale through a plea agreement.

Lisa Walls, 50, pleaded guilty during another hearing before Judge Doug Camacho. She faces a 5- to 15-year prison term after pleading guilty to separate offenses.

Walls is guilty of possession of dangerous drugs for sale involving a March 11, 2019 seizure of a pound of methamphetamine that she admitted stashing in a shed after running from the scene of a traffic stop.

Walls is also convicted of sale of dangerous drugs for providing a confidential informant 114 grams of meth for $800 at 3131 East Potter Avenue on May 29, 2019.

Judge Camacho scheduled a Dec. 8 sentencing hearing for Walls.
