Alaska man will not be prosecuted in fatal crash deaths

KINGMAN – The Mohave County Attorney’s Office is declining prosecution of the Alaska man whose vehicle crossed the center line of Highway 95 resulting in a crash and the deaths of a mother and daughter from Lake Havasu City. Maria Ramirez-Rangle, 38, and her ten-year-old daughter were dead at the scene of the January 19 head-on collision at Fall Springs Wash.

An adult male and children 5 and 14 years of age who occupied the Infinity SUV driven by Ramirez-Rangle were hospitalized for treatment of their injuries. The driver of the Range Rover SUV that was southbound when it crossed into the northbound lanes causing the crash is identified as Scott Jezorski, 28.

Deputy Mohave County Attorney Bob Moon reviewed the case investigation reports that indicated that Jezorski was not impaired but had recently undergone “some rigorous medical treatment for a serious health problem of his own.” The prosecutor who has determined no charges should be filed said another motorist witness saw Jezorski slumped over the wheel a short distance from where the head-on collision occurred.

“There is simply no persuasive evidence that the cause of the collision was anything other than falling asleep at the wheel, which would result in civil negligence liability but is insufficient for any type of homicide prosecution,” Moon wrote in his case review conclusion communication to the Lake Havasu City police department.

  1. Are you kidding me?! There are several driving restrictions when it comes to the medical/health side of things!!!! You can’t possibly tell me that because he “fell asleep” due to recently undergoing some rigorous medical treatment for a serious health problem that, that in its self is excusable?! I (and I quote””) just “recently had some rigorous medical treatment for a serious health problem” my self, and my dr and my nurse and several of his attendees told me repetitively that because of all this I WAS NOT TO DRIVE!!!! Besides its common sense! So your also telling us that had this been Mr. Bob Moons wife and Child who were killed, the evidence or situation alone would not be persuasive enough to find him guilty of anything other than a civil negligence liability??!! No disrespect but YA RIGHT!!! He would have been found guilty of every level of vehicular murder there is!!! Plus I’m sure a whole slew of other charges !!!! This is just crazy what is going on in the world?! Sure home this guy isn’t out on the road when my daughter and granddaughter are !!!! Cause there won’t need to be any persuasive evidence if that were to happen to my family!!! Prayers to the father and surviving children, may god watch over u and put your hearts at peace!
