Storage unit burglar takes plea

KINGMAN – A plea agreement has been entered for a Bullhead City storage unit burglar. James Koryta, 46, pleaded guilty to three felony burglary charges during a February 11 hearing at the Mohave County Courthouse.

Five other burglary charges and a criminal damage count are dismissed in the deal. Prosecutor Greg McPhillips said Koryta and co-defendant Eric Covell, 27, took property from eight different units at the Storage Stop business in the 3000 block of Highway 95 at the end of last September.

McPhillips said jewelry, clothing, household items and an airplane propeller were among the items taken from the three units connected to Koryta’s convictions. Koryta faces probation up to 7.5 years in prison when sentenced March 17.
