LAKE HAVAU CITY – Get ready to witness Lake Havasu versus Prescott Valley Pool Tournament this week.† The Prescott†Northern Arizona Cup will join Team Havasu for their yearly pool showdown.†
This will be their fourth annual competition. However, this will be the first year that the competition will be having an extra match which will run side by side with the Northern Arizona Cup.†
Many of the pool leagues in Lake Havasu have an affiliation with this week’s competition.† It all began when the pool players of Havasu got together with players from Prescott.†
They took six of their best players from Lake Havasu and six of the best players from Prescott.† Their competitions took off, and competitors from Lake Havasu and Prescott Valley look forward to these tournaments every year.††
Captain of the Lake Havasu team Eric Ontiveros, has been in this role since the beginning†of the yearly matches. Ontiveros developed an interest in the game at the age of twenty one.†
He took notice of the many players that seemed to be experiencing so much enjoyment of†the†sport. The witnessing of this was enough for Ontiveros to pick up a cue and join the games.††
Ontiveros is nothing but humble when it comes to overseeing his teammates over the years.† “I’ve been fortunate to be captain since it started. I’ve had a lot of help from other players though. None of this would be possible†without our wonderful community of players,” Ontiveros said.† †
Team Havasu had a custom cue created by QT Customs owner Ken Thieman. This was used to raise the majority of the†funds needed to cover the costs of the Lake Havasu team this year.† †Anyone interested in playing can join their Facebook page at† ††(10) Lake Havasu Pool Tourney/League | Facebook.††
