LAKE HAVASU CITY – Havasu Classics Car Club will be celebrating veterans the week before Veterans Day at their 17th Annual Veterans Day Celebration Show and Shine on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Lake Havasu State Park.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., come out and enjoy classic rock hits with a live DJ, food, drink, and raffles. Trophies will be awarded to the winners of the car show. The show is free to spectators and 100% of proceeds will go to local veterans in need of assistance.
This year, Havasu Classics Car Club is giving back to the veterans of the community. Havasu Classics Car Club was founded by three Lake Havasu couples. Originally called the Havasu Chevy Club, their mission was to bring Chevy fans together to assist the people of Lake Havasu.
Over the next five years, the growing interest for the club increased and membership was created for all fans of classic cars. The club then changed their name to Havasu Classics Car Club.
Two of the original founders, John and Barbara Hanks are still productive members and help broadcast the club’s car shows. The car shows became fundraising events for local charities.
Their Veterans Day Show and Shine is the club’s most well-known fundraiser. The club has partnered up with Anderson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership to display specialty cars and hot rods.
