16th Annual Havasu Memorial Walkway honors freedoms

LAKE HAVASU CITY – For the past 16 years, the Havasu Memorial Walkway has been keeping the residents of Lake Havasu close to their departed loved ones. The Havasu Memorial Walkway has an open invitation for anyone who wishes to be included.

Simply provide a brick donation where it will be preserved forever along the Bridgewater Channel under the London Bridge. Forms for participating in the walkway can be accessed by visiting havasumemorialwalkway.org.

It was in 2016, that the volunteer group formed The Freedom Foundation. Throughout the years, the Freedom Foundation has made it their goal to honor groups and individuals who have fought for American freedoms.

Navajo Code Talkers, Havasu pioneers, first responders, and veterans, are just some of the many honorees that the walkway has previously celebrated. Themed with “Moments of Freedom,” the Havasu Memorial Walkway Dedication Ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Havasu Memorial Walkway.

With the growth of Havasu residencies on the rise, talk of construction for a second bridge is in the air. The walkway will be intended to connect the two bridges, and a most cherished gift; the lasting connection between the present, and our nation’s historic heroes.
