Young Marines looking for recruits



Kingman Young Marines honor military veterans with a Color Guard and Flag line at the Kingman rodeo in 2019.

KINGMAN – The Kingman Young Marines are looking for a few good youths for their next recruit training class to begin Saturday, August 15. The Young Marines is a national organization that develops leadership, teamwork and discipline in its members with emphasis on a healthy lifestyle and being drug free. The program is open to both boys and girls ages 8 through 18.

Through the National Program Young Marines have a chance to participate in a program called SPACES (Summer Programs of: Adventures, Challenges, Encampments, and Schools). Each year the program changes and includes, various Leadership Schools, the Great American History Adventure, Space Camp, National Flight Academy, Drill and Ceremonies School, Sailing, Orienteering, Cowboy Experience, SCUBA and Master SCUBA Diver Schools, and the National Encampment.

Registrations will be held July 30, August 6, and August 13,from  6 to 8 p.m. at the Kingman Academy of Learning Intermediate School Gym, 3419 Harrison St.  All interested youth and their parents are invited to join us during any one of these sessions to register and/or learn about the Young Marines program. We will have adult leaders and Young Marines on hand to answer your questions.
