Women Making History event cancelled

Dear Editor,

After careful consideration, the steering committee of Kingman Women Making History has made a very difficult decision.  The March event to honor Kingman Women Making History has been canceled.  We have every intention of holding the event in 2022. We are choosing to be respectful of the public and the health and safety of all participants and guests.  Normally this event brings an excess of 200 people.  We feel a deep responsibility to past winners and future recipients to be respectful of their well being.   In these challenging times the committee wishes to focus on the positive.  For the challenging year 2021, any and all women of Kingman shall be honored for their integrity, strength and character. We reflect upon the past year knowing the great physical and mental efforts required by many. We look forward to a proclamation by Mayor Jen Miles in the month of February that will honor the women of Kingman, proclaiming March as Women Making History Month.

We look forward to an outstanding ceremony and celebration in 2022.  Thanks to the public for their patience and understanding. A special thanks goes out to all the news media for their support in our endeavors.
