Dear Editor,
The “Trump supporter who warns of liberal communists” feels it is delusional to think Hillary Clinton displayed grace in loss, as a writer implies. I would ask you to give u your opinion of Trump’s behavior in loss especially the 6th of January uprising which Trump orchestrated and initially refused to intervene, until he finally was persuaded he said to the crowed, “go home in peace” only after repeating the lie, “I won … the election was stolen.” Earlier, while listening to Limbaugh and Gorka on the radio, I heard Antifa mentioned several times, however the television coverage clearly showed many Trump flags in the crowd. I understand people are upset with the outcome of the election, but the fact remains, all the lies and false accusations did not change the outcome.
What intrigues me is how supposedly intelligent people with seemingly normal intellect can be so easily brainwashed by charismatic people who convince them to do their bidding, even if it flies in the face of reality and ultimately ruins their lives. I’m old enough to remember, and be reminded of Jim Jones in Guyana’s Peoples Temple, a purportedly evangelical sect who convinced or ordered the suicide or murder of almost a thousand people. More recently there was David Koresh’s Waco Texas Branch Davidian offshoot of Shepherds Rod, a sect of the Seventh Day Adventists, a total of 76 died of suicide or were killed. Trump apparently has the same effect judging by the number of people who condone his lies by never questioning the obvious.
As for class in defeat: did Hillary demand recount after recount, no. Did she initiate lawsuit after lawsuit without any evidence to back up her claims, no. Did she demand secretaries of state declare voting irregularities occurred, or voting machines were tampered with, no. Did she allege fraud, no. This is the only president in history to have reacted so irrationally after losing a second term. I happen to feel Hillary showed more grace, poise and class in defeat than Donald did, and I stick by my opinion. As you are welcome to yours.
