New engines have arrived!

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Fire Department (BHCFD) is excited to highlight the arrival of their five new engines. All of the new apparatus are E-One Typhoon engines that were custom-built for their department, with a 450 horsepower cummings engine, 750-gallon water tank, and 30-gallon CAFS (Compressed Air Foam System) also housed with a fitted Darly water pump. Each engine has a six-person capacity, rooftop storage compartments, large rear compartments, an enclosed ladder tunnel, LED lighting, and updated computer technology.

The E-One Typhoon engines were constructed and built-in Ocala, Florida. When completed, they were transported to H&E Equipment Services in Phoenix, for the installation of radio, headsets, and computer modems.

The five new engines will replace all of the aging apparatus and standardize the fleet for increased efficiency. The new engines were purchased as a part of the BCFD General Obligation Bond. The first new engine to arrive was placed in service at station three located at 3560 McCormick Blvd shortly after E711 followed and was placed into service at station one (1260 Hancock Rd.) Crewmembers assigned to these stations had the opportunity to train and become familiarized with the new apparatus before it was placed into service. Two additional Engines will go into service mid-month, and the last will follow by the end of October.
