LAKE HAVASU CITY – Tennis enthusiasts will be in for some fun and competition at Lake Havasu’s first ever London Bridge Invitational. The Northern Arizona United States Tennis Association (NAZUSTA) is an organization in the Northern Region Arizona of the Southwest.
Currently, their other five regions in the southwest area are in Southern New Mexico, Texas, Greater El Paso, Phoenix, and New Mexico. Additionally, the organization’s outreach is also designated in Northern Arizona for counties such as Yavapai, Coconino, Apache, Navajo, and Mohave.
Through athletic high school games and events, is where NAZUSTA Representative Sterling Fetty met Head Coach of Lake Havasu High School Andrew Maurer. Together, the two began making plans for a tennis tournament in Lake Havasu, and next week, this tournament will finally be a reality.
The invitational is open to players and anyone interested in learning the sport. This will be a one-day occasion for singles and doubles teams.
These will be coed games with a combination of players for singles and doubles matches. Round robin draws will be available for each flight.
Early registration is strongly encouraged so that the organization can get a sense of how many participants they can accommodate. Fees for players are $25 and free for spectators. Deadline for signups is Sunday, March 10.
