MCC’s honor society inducts 31 students on the Lake Havasu Campus

MOHAVE COUNTY – Thirty-one Mohave Community College Lake Havasu Campus students have been inducted to Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society-Alpha Chi Chi chapter during an induction ceremony with friends and family.

Phi Theta Kappa’s mission is to recognize and encourage scholarships among two-year college students by providing an opportunity for leadership, service, and development. Students are invited to join Phi Theta Kappa if they have achieved a 3.5 GPA and earned 12 credit hours.

“The Phi Theta Kappa Alpha Chi Chi induction ceremony holds significance as it serves to formally recognize and celebrate the academic achievements of MCC’s outstanding scholars,” Pamela Galovich, PTK Advisor said. “Congratulations to our new inductees for their dedication to excellence and commitment to scholarly pursuits.”

Inducted students are: John Delgado, Kayla Gerding, Carlos Gastelum, Molly Wiese, Gracie Reynolds, Savanah Dollarhide, Kayla Rae Maserang, Bristi Benjamin, Tina Braniger, Nicolasa Montero, Adam Berezoski, Aliciyah Harris, Lisa Armendariz, Samantha Hallenbeck, Seth Markle, Kendal McCarthy, Ashley Teodosio, Nickolas Walker, Isaac Yarbrough, Milanee Parker, Azucena Loaiza, Cora Mariani, Tracy Ocampo, Raquel Ortega, Thomas Sparks, X-Avier Gonzalez, Josiah Garcia, Danielle Filburn, Tiffany Nachtmann, Daniel Plane, Araya Dechape, Alyssa Garcia and Connor Stone.

New inductees were welcomed into the honor society by Jasmine Garcia, PTK President. New officers, Le Ann Flores Gomez (Vice President of Leadership), Kevin Gauthun (Vice President of Scholarship), and Diane Aquino (Vice President of Fellowship) were inducted during the ceremony. Anyone who is interested in becoming an MCC student is encouraged to fill out the free online application at Apply.Mohave.edu, or visit a nearby campus for assistance. There is still time to sign up for classes this semester, with 12-week classes starting Feb. 5 and 8-week classes beginning March 11. The College is also enrolling students for the summer semester beginning May 28. The enrollment window for the fall semester opens Feb. 20.
