KINGMAN – The Kingman Crossing Interstate 40 interchange project spearhead by Kingman Regional Medical Center was the subject of a report city manager Ron Foggin presented at the June 1 council meeting. Foggin said the hospital exercised its contractual right in its development agreement with city to place the project in a pandemic pause more than a year ago.
Foggin said hospital officials understandably have had their hands full dealing with COVID-19 but that CEO Will MConnell is interested in advancing the interchange that will open development in the vicinity of KRMC’s Hualapai Mountain Campus.
Foggin said McConnell is assessing whether the hospital wants to use available funds or debt financing to build the interchange. Foggin said the city and the hospital will likely need to update project timetables and benchmarks if the project pause is lifted as the nation tries to move through the pandemic.
