KINGMAN – At its regular monthly meeting, the local FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) Mohave Lodge #16, on Wednesday, March 30, presented a 45-year pin to member Pat Mullen-Lamb. It commemorates her 45 continuous years of service to the lodge.

Mullen-Lamb, who is a Lifetime Member of the Lodge, received her 40-year pin just two months shy of her 45th anniversary in January. She had served continuously for 44 years and 10 months at that time and was shy two months of her 45th anniversary.

Mullen -Lamb holds the record for Lodge #16 as the longest continuously-serving member. She graduated from ALETA (Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy) in March, 1979 and joined the Lodge that same month.

Mullen-Lamb, who served with distinction in a variety of positions in law enforcement in Mohave County, was honored as a Woman Making History in 1994 and as well received two Andy awards, one for Volunteerism and the other for Lifetime Achievement. She serves as the State Trustee for the Lodge which is a liaison between the local lodge and the state lodge. Additionally, she is the Historian for the lodge.

The FOP lodge, in addition to recognizing fallen officers provides a lot of support within the community in many areas.  In particular, the lodge sponsors roadway cleanup efforts for two miles of Hualapai Mountain Road.  Lodge members keep that portion of the roadway free of trash and debris.

They donate to KAAP (Kingman Aid to Abused People) and sponsor the Youth Soccer League and Little League teams as well.  Mullen-Lamb and others stated that there are many things the lodge does for the community behind the scenes.

At the meeting members discussed various things they can do for the community this year such as providing funds for clothing, food and other items for underprivileged students at the schools; and being a sponsor of Kids Fishing Day which is an annual program of the Sportsmen’s Club.  Additionally, there was discussion regarding having a booth at the county fair for more presence in the community and to sell raffle tickets.

Currently, the lodge is raffling off two handguns, a TP9SFX 9mm and Trailblazer Lifecard 22 caliber, to raise funds for the lodge. Tickets are $10 each and the drawing will be on June 19, 2024 at Calicos.

President John Slaughter said the monument to fallen officers (located at the entrance to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Department) was donated by the lodge and he has more information to add to it. There are also three canine officers that died in the line of duty which are listed on the monument.

The FOP includes all law enforcement such as Park Police, the Police and Sheriff’s Departments, Constables and Bureau of Land Management Rangers according to Slaughter.
