The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists traveling on US 93 near the community of Wikieup to expect daytime restrictions starting this week along a 10-mile section of the highway.
The paving work is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, beginning Wednesday, April 10, through Thursday, April 25. The following restrictions will be in place:
- US 93 will be intermittently narrowed to one lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel between Cedar Mine and Wikieup Hills roads (mileposts 120 to 130).
- Drivers should be prepared to come to a complete stop when approaching and driving through the work zone.
- Flaggers and a pilot car will assist drivers through the work zone.
- A 14-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place, and the speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
The project elements include:
- Removing the top layer of the riding surface and replacing it with new pavement.
- Making spot pavement repairs, applying new pavement markings and other related work.
ADOT reminds drivers to watch for construction personnel and equipment while construction is underway.
