Wendy Griffitts, Wells Fargo Bank District Manager and Marguerite Bainbridge, Wells Fargo Bank Administrative Assistant presented a check for $2500 to the Dig It Kingman Community Gardens last week. Several steering committees members were there to accept it. This donation was an environmental grant that Dig It was awarded. The funds will go toward garden improvements, children’s educational events, soil, paint, garden supplies, irrigation, building materials and other items needed at the garden.
Dig It began in April 2015 and has been “growing” ever since. We have just expanded the garden with a few new beds to accommodate those on the waiting list or for others that are interested in leasing a garden bed. The garden is a place for sharing garden knowledge, making friendships, enjoying the outdoors, donating produce to the Cornerstone Mission, enrolling items at the County Fair and hosting Children’s Educational, Fun Events. There is something for everyone. For more information about the garden, visit their Facebook page www.facebook.com/digitkingman or website at digitkingmancommuniytgardens.org.
