Dear Editor,
It is with heavy heart that we share with you that due to COVID-19 again this year Kingman’s annual 9/21 International Day of Peace observance, also called World Peace Day, is cancelled. Next year, after we have all survived COVID19, we can again resume the annual 9/21 Kingman observance of this most memorable and precious of days. Until then do stay well and go in peace.
Organizers of the Kingman event encourage you to take a moment of your time at noon on Sept. 21 to symbolically ring a small bell if you have one and to reflectively contemplate the harmony and beauty of peace in our universe and its signficance to you and to all life as well:-) Pertinent extracts from UN literature: ”Peace day is devoted to commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples. This day will serve as a reminder to all peoples that our organization, the UN, with all its limitations, is a living instrument in the service of peace and will serve all of us here within the organization as a constantly pealing bell reminding us that our permanent commitment, above all interests or differences of any kind, is to peace.” The UN Mission Statement is: May Peace prevail on earth far and wide to embrace the lands and people of this Earth. We wish for all that you go in peace, abundant love and joy.
