DAMA, HVINA water rights apps can be submitted online

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) has  announced that applications can now be submitted online for Grandfathered Rights in the Douglas Active Management Area (DAMA) and Irrigation Authorities in the Hualapai Valley Irrigation Non-Expansion Area (HVINA).

For the DAMA, applications for Irrigation Grandfathered Rights, Type 1 Non-Irrigation Rights, and Type 2 Non-Irrigation Rights must be submitted by March 1, 2024. There will be no exceptions to this deadline.

For the HVINA, applications should be completed prior to the submission deadline for annual water use reports, which is March 31, 2024.

The entire application process for both the DAMA and HVINA can be completed online.  If you wish to claim Substantial Capital Investment (SCI) to support your application, you will be directed to do so as part of the online application.  Blank applications may still be downloaded and printed for those that prefer a paper application.

Applications for the DAMA may be accessed by going to the ADWR website at https://www.azwater.gov/ama/douglas-ama and clicking on online application and forms.

Applications for the HVINA may be accessed by going to the ADWR website at https://www.azwater.gov/ama/hualapai-valley-ina and clicking on online application and forms.

If you need assistance in completing these forms or using the online application process, ADWR staff provides online office hours on Tuesdays from 3-4 pm that may be accessed through the ADWR public meeting calendar (https://www.azwater.gov/meetings). Outside of these office hours you can get assistance by calling our customer service line at 602-771-8585 or emailing us at EARP@azwater.gov.
