BULLHEAD CITY – The Colorado River Union High School District governing board has unanimously chosen Arizona Department of Education (ADE) program specialist Todd Flora as its new superintendent. The late-night vote Tuesday followed almost four hours of a third round of candidate interviews and discussion. Flora and Kimball, South Dakota, Public Schools superintendent Tim Mayclin were the two finalists. Skeen receives the Commission on Professional Credentialing Fire Marshal designation The Commission of Professional Credentialing (CPC) announced that Bullhead City Fire Department staff Barbie Skeen has successfully completed the process that awards the professional designation of “Fire Marshal” (FM). The CPC met on February 5, to confer the designation. Skeen becomes one of only 153 FMs worldwide. Dear Editor, If there is one pet peeve it is our liberal legal justice system. I don’t know how you feel, but in my case I wasn’t for legal help but guess who is allowed. That’s right my taxpaying friend, the guilty get a free attorney. And guess who doesn’t get a free attorney? Right again! The crime victim is expected to pay. KRMC’s Day in the Park is April 13

Kingman Regional Medical Center will host a “Day in the Park”, scheduled for Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Centennial Park. This free event promotes healthy living by encouraging participants to walk the path at Centennial Park and along the way to visit vendor booths for tips and information about health and wellness in our community. Included will be live fitness demonstrations, raffles and prizes for participants.

Clean City Commission issues grant opportunity

City of Kingman Clean City Commission (CCC) is sponsoring the Chuck Gibson Community Challenge Award for local youth organizations and clubs which encourage youth participation in community projects. The CCC will provide matching funds of up to $100 for six awarded groups for their community projects. Partial funding maybe awarded as well. Your organization/club must conduct a project that benefits the community such as a clean-up, tree planting, or a beautification project. Spring Craft Fair slated for April 6

Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) in Kingman will host its annual Spring Craft Fair Saturday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will feature arts and crafts vendors, handmade items, commercial vendors, a bake sale, and raffle prizes including a full size quilt.
