Bullhead City Striper Derby this Weekend

There is still time to register for the 2019 Bullhead City Striper Derby, which will be held June 8-9, 2019. Registration is open online at https://bhcreelincashderby.eventbrite.com and cost $25 per angler for largest striper and a $10 buy in for heaviest stringer and blind bogey. Onsite registration, fish weigh in and the Derby awards ceremony will be located at Rusty’s Riviera Marina on 520 Riviera Blvd, Bullhead City, AZ. Registrants 17 years and younger are welcome to participate for $5 per entry, per category with the chance to win a swag bag full of prizes. Each registered angler receives an event t-shirt, food ticket for Steins BBQ and 5 raffle tickets for the event raffle when purchasing the largest striper entry. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase onsite. Registration ends June 7 at 5 p.m.  An awards party with live music will take place Sunday, June 9 from 3:30 – 5 p.m. for all registered participants and the public.

Grand prize of $500 cash goes to the 1st place winner in the largest striper category with 2nd place receiving $200 and 3rd $100 cash. Heaviest stringer and blind bogey offers $100 cash to the 1st place winner in each.

“We would like to invite the community to come down to Rusty’s Riviera Marina and support the anglers, purchase raffle tickets, and join in on all the fun. We encourage the public to stick around for the final drawing which will be announced at the end of the event. The lucky winner will receive $100 cash,” said Ashlee Bennett, Recreation Supervisor for the City of Bullhead City. “This event has had a lot of support from local businesses donating raffle prizes and cash for our prize pool. Without the support of our local businesses, events like this wouldn’t come to fruition or be successful” commented Bennett.
