Bullhead brush fire burned itself out

BULLHEAD CITY – On Tuesday, October 29, at about 8:50 p.m., several of the Bullhead City Fire Department (BHCFD) crews were dispatched to a brush fire across from 660 Hwy. 95 near the river’s edge. Ladder 721s crew arrived first on the scene, reporting that the fire was not easily accessible. Acting Battalion Chief Marvin McCabe, along with L721s crew monitored the fire and its movement with winds in excess of 25 mph. The blaze burned into an area that had previously been burned and died out. Firefighters continued to monitor the area throughout the night to watch for hot spots.

Following a fire investigation, it appeared that the fire may have been started by a cooking or warming fire that was in the immediate area.
