Beauty salon moving to downtown

KINGMAN – A successful beauty salon will be relocating from central Kingman to the downtown area following Tuesday city council approval of a plan amendment and rezoning. Slightly High Maintenance will move to Oak Street, one block east of the Lee Williams High School baseball field.

Owner Kevin and Stephanie Wilkerson plan to remodel a house and the former Crumb Crusher’s Day Care center building on their property. City planner Rich Ruggles said the house is earmarked for a coffee shop while the day care building will be repurposed for the salon.

The Council voted Tuesday to appoint Jen Swapp and Gary Waters to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Jason Davis was appointed to a vacant seat on the Economic Development Advisory Commission.
