LWHS Renaissance Fair Helps the Students Shine

KINGMAN – Fairies, sword fights, Shakespeare and baked treats.

Lee Williams High School stagecraft students, with the leadership of their teacher, Paula Pickett, put on an inaugural ‘Lee Ol Renaissance Faire’ Friday.

More than 50 students, teachers, parents and other spectators set up camp in the school’s grassy common area adjacent to the cafeteria to show off months of building sets and rehearsing acts as part of a fundraiser for the drama and stagecraft classes.

Ft. Mohave man killed in traffic crash

BULLHEAD CITY– A Sept. 1 single vehicle traffic fatality remains under investigation in Bullhead City. Police don’t know why the Chevrolet Equinox left the Bullhead Parkway near Camino Real Boulevard at about 1:15 p.m.

Bullhead City Police Department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said George Hendrickson, 75, Fort Mohave, was dead at the scene. She said the vehicle traveled down a dirt embankment before striking a guardrail.

No injuries in LHC garage fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – At approximately 3:30 p.m., Monday, August 26, a garage fire was reported by witnesses driving in the 3500 block of Oro Grande Boulevard. The first arriving fire company reported smoke and flames coming from the garage doors of a double RV garage. Five Engine Companies, one Medic Unit, and a Battalion Chief responded to the incident and gained control of the fire within 25 minutes. The occupants evacuated the house safely. There were no reported injuries to the firefighters.
