Manuel Esparza Garza, of Kingman, died Thursday, June 13, 2019. He was 77. Mr. Garza was born June 7, 1942 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. A service will be held Tuesday, June 18 at Resthaven Cemetery, 4310 E. Southern Ave., in Phoenix, with interment following. The family contact is Mr. Garza’s daughter Leticia Gaspar. Prison sex brings prison sentence

KINGMAN – Two women who engaged in sexual activity with inmates at the state prison in Golden Valley appeared for separate Wednesday hearings in Mohave County Superior Court. Defense attorney Mike Manusia asked that Melony Petrovffsky, 50, Golden Valley, be spared from lock up for her guilty plea to an unlawful sexual conduct by a correctional employee charge. “She’s completely humiliated and remorseful,” Manusia told Judge Rick Lambert. “She is sick with grief.” Prosecutor James Schoppmann urged the Court to send a sentencing message that fortifies the integrity of the justice system that he said Petrovffsky stained. “The system itself…

Golf tourney to benefit JAVC

KINGMAN – Origin Mining will be hosting a job fair and golf tournament at Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course on Saturday, June 15, to benefit the Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council (JAVC). The JAVC provides vital services such as housing assistance, job training, and healthcare access to veterans in need.
