Here is the story of a lovely lady who gave so much and asked for so little. The life of our dear Sheree (Sherry) Lynn Covey was cut short on September 24, 2023, after a brief illness. She was at home, in the arms of her husband and surrounded by her children and family including her sisters Shawnee and Kim. Sheree was born in Loma Linda, California on May 10th,1956. She is the daughter of the late Bob and Irene Fuqua. She was one of 12 children. When Sheree was 4, her family moved to Burro Creek to run a small restaurant that was located on old 93 Burro Creek Bridge crossing. Shortly after they moved to Wikieup, Arizona so that she could start school. She attended the Owens Whitney Elementary School, then was bussed to Kingman attend Kingman High School. She graduated in 1974.

It was at Fuqua’s of Wikieup Rock Shop where she was seen standing in the doorway by a local ranch hand who worked at the EX-Ranch and had admired her from afar. He knew without a doubt that he finally found who he had been looking for. SHE was the one. Thanks to his dear friend Eddie Banegas, that day Sheree met her sweetheart and future husband J. Bruce Covey. They were married on July 18th, 1975. They later moved to Bagdad, Arizona. It was there where they raised their kids and created so many wonderful memories. In 2009 Bruce retired from Freeport-McMoRan Inc. They moved to their retirement home in Kingman, Arizona.

Sheree had an eye for treasures. She saw beauty and value in many items that had no monetary value. She loved to go on walks while gathering rare and unique rocks. She always had food ready to feed you even if you just ate. She made the best cookies and she loved to share them. Her cookie recipes are no secret as they are commonly printed on Oatmeal and Chocolate Chip packages, however the love she put into them is an ingredient only she could add. She was always making something in the kitchen and took care of everyone and did it without complaint. She made beautiful Indian rugs on her loom. She had strong and gentle hands that worked hard to take care of her home, her family and hold her babies and grandbabies. She didn’t think that she did anything special, but her family and friends always knew the true treasure she was. She loved her family most of all.

Sheree is proceeded in death by her parents and older brother Jerry, who died at age 6 from a tragic accident.

She leaves behind her husband of 48 years Bruce. Her children Johnathan Bruce JB II (Wendy) Covey, Amber (Kenny) Lange, Mary (Scot) McCoy-Durst. Her Grandkids John (Jade), Veronica (Mason), Zerak, Sage, Hayden, Kennedy, Gunner, Joshua, Manny, Lydia (Blaine), Alan, Jhonen & Liberty. Her great Grandchildren Carter (JB IV), Elliot, Baby Vincent (Due December 2023). Her siblings Shawnee (Larry), Kim, Terry (Albert), Larry, Barry, Karen (Bob), Connie, Mike (Emma), Tommy (Sharon) and Sandy. She is loved and will be missed by us all including her many nieces & nephews.

Her family is planning a celebration of her life at a later date.
