Marion A Praschil (nee Blauvelt) passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024 with her Daughters and Granddaughter by her side. Marion was born in Teaneck, NJ on January 23, 1932 to the late Raymond and Edith Blauvelt. Marion grew up in Teaneck and was the oldest of the 4 Blauvelt Sisters. Marion met and married the love of her life Richard (Richie) Praschil in 1950 and it was in Teaneck they would raise their 4 children. In 1969 they briefly moved to Mesa, Arizona, but moved back to New Jersey in 1971 and settled in Lanoka Harbor. Marion and Richie spent 26 beautiful years together before Richie’s passing in 1977.

Marion was employed as a Custodian for Cedar Creek Elementary School in Lacey Township for many years and while there she had achieved her Black Seal License to be able to operate boilers for which that was an accomplishment she was so proud of. Marion retired in 1999 and that same year she moved back to Arizona to be near her daughter Penny and Grandchildren in Kingman. Where she then became part of the Grace Neal Preschool and St. John’s Daycare, she then became known to all as grandma.

Even though Marion spent the last 24 years in Arizona, she was always proud to be a Jersey Girl. She always said the years she spent growing up and raising her family in Teaneck were the happiest times of her life, but to her friends in South Jersey, thank you for the Memories.

In addition to her husband Richie and her parents, Marion is predeceased by her son Richard Praschil, Grandchildren Myron Murray, Allison Praschil and Mathew Praschil, and  Sisters Doris Burns and Ruth Sedlock.

Marion is survived by her 3 children Linda Murray (Myron), Alan Praschil (Donna) and Penny Glenn (Kermit). Grandchildren Adrienne, Nichole, Justin, Kyle and Kayla, Great Grandchildren Trevan, Aubrey, Havyn, Desi, Adrienne, Katrina, Brooke, Kylie, Kendall, Sheridan, and Stella, Great Great Grandchildren Hayden, Ryann, Calli,  and Carter, Sister Shirley Worth and numerous Nieces, Nephews and Friends.

Marion’s family would also like to thank White Cliffs Senior Living for the compassionate care she was given during the last year of her life. In keeping with Marion’s wishes, no services are planned. Marion’s departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit and memories she created will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration. May she rest in peace.
