C.T. “Tom” Callahan, 90, passed away on February 25, 2024, in Kingman. Born on July 31, 1933, in Clovis, New Mexico, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Tom, known as C.T. to some, served his country as a Navy Corpsman. After his military service, he dedicated himself to a career that included working for the Santa Fe Railroad and the United State Post Office. Despite his full-time job, Tom also bravely served his community as a volunteer firefighter for the Kingman Fire Department and as an EMT for the local ambulance.

He was a faithful member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, finding solace and community in his religious beliefs.

Tom is survived by his wife of 66 years Darline Callahan; his children Cheryl Shaeffer (David), Tom Callahan (Bobbi Jo), Adrea DeLong (Ron), Nicole Smith; daughter-in-law Dixie McKee; grandchildren Monica Callahan (Lewis), Brandon DeLong (Ashlyn), Rachel Pope (Robbie), Michael Callahan (Kat), Domonick DeLong (Jen), Anna Callahan, Kiesa Buschbaum (Tucker), Bodie Smith; and great-grandchildren Cierra (Jose), Lydia, Audon, Avelyn, Presley, Elias, Henry, Jaxon, Lucy and Layla; in-laws Betty Rucker, Christine Brackney and Gary Lancaster (Elaine); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Michael Callahan, brothers Orville Lee Callahan, John Garcia, Dean McMillan, and lifelong best friend Genaro Olivas.

Tom’s dedication to his country, community, and family leaves a lasting legacy of service and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
