BULLHEAD CITY  – The Western Arizona Vocational Educational (WAVE) District provides high quality career and technical education to high school students.   The District is overseen by a seven-member board with two representatives each from Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City/Mohave Valley and Kingman and one from Parker.    The WAVE Governing Board currently has two vacancies in the Bullhead City/Mohave Valley area.  The Board is seeking interested candidates for the position.  The candidate chosen will serve on the Board until the next General Election and then follow election procedures if they wish to continue.  Candidates must reside within the Colorado River Union High School District boundaries to…

BULLHEAD CITY – It’s operation in Bullhead City represents the most successful  start up in Dot Foods distribution facility history, according to plant manager Rocky Vecera. Training activity at the 190,000 square foot warehouse began in late Jan. last year, the facility began taking in food product a month later before shipping started last March. “Things are going very well here. Manker receives 13 years for killing girlfriend

MOHAVE VALLEY – A Mohave Valley man told a judge last Friday that he killed his girlfriend early this year to end her suffering. Mohave County Superior Court Judge ordered a 13-year prison term for James Manker, 28. It was revealed during the sentencing hearing that Manker was severely disabled when he drove drunk and crashed a vehicle when he was a teenager about a decade ago. His friends told the Court that Manker struggled to live a normal life after the accident and his loneliness led to his relationship with Tina Stimmell, 56. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department warns the community about a fraudulent telephone scam seen recently in Lake Havasu City. Officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department recently investigated a fraudulent telephone call where an unknown caller identified themselves as a member of the Lake Havasu City Police Department to the victim.
