BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City council has adopted an ordinance that takes aim at pigeon pooping problems throughout the community. It is illegal to feed pigeons and violators can be subjected to citation and fines.

“This has been something that the city is contacted about quite frequently in the past 12 to 18 months,” said city manager Toby Cotter. “Homeowners have just had it with the numbers of pigeons in neighborhoods.”

Cotter said the bird droppings are a nuisance and cause damage to parks, homes, commercial buildings and vehicles. He said purposeful feeding of the birds perpetuates the problem.
