Two-day store closure for cleansing campaign

KINGMAN – An undisclosed issue has resulted in the temporary closure of what is perhaps the most heavily trafficked retail store in Kingman. The Walmart supercenter at 3396 Stockton Hill Road closed its doors at 2:00 p.m. Monday.

“Walmart has chosen to do this to allow extra time for a third-party specialist to further sanitize the store and will also give associates additional time to restock shelves and prepare the store to once again serve the community during this time,” a news release said.

The news release provides no detail regarding if or how many employees and/or customers may have been exposed or infected by the coronavirus. The statement urges people to call 1 (800) 925-6278 if they have questions or concerns.

Board of Supervisors Chairman Buster Johnson said Mohave County officials have not been provided specific information. He said he is trying to learn more that may be helpful to the public.

Walmart said it intends to reopen the Kingman store at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday.
