BULLHEAD CITY – A veteran member of the Bullhead City Police Department has lost a prolonged battle with COVID-19 and complications from the coronavirus. The agency expressed deep sadness in a Facebook post noting Friday night’s passing of Lieutenant Nick Sessions.

Sessions joined the Department in January 1999.

“You could always count on Lt. Sessions for a laugh and a story, often both at once. He epitomized pride, dedication, honor and commitment. He put his all into helping others – fellow officers and community members alike – and doing it with a smile and wry humor,” the post read. “Everywhere he worked, Lt. Sessions gained the respect and friendship of all who knew him.”

Sessions reportedly performed numerous duties including working in the traffic section, narcotics, School Resource Officer, supervisor in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Patrol Commander, SWAT Team Leader, and Tactical Commander. He was awarded Officer of the Year in 2001 and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2008.
