BULLHEAD CITY – The Rotary Club of Bullhead City will be hosting the 73rd Annual Burro BBQ on Saturday, May 24 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be live music, a kid’s zone and lots of smoked and barbecued meats. Guests will be able to sample and buy some of the best deep pit barbecue pork and beef found anywhere.

More than 70 years ago just after Arizona was inaugurated into the union, some local businessmen chose to celebrate the event by barbecuing two burros for 45 or so attendees, which became an official event in then-Hardyville (now Bullhead City). The Bullhead City Chamber of Commerce has kept the event alive and the annual gathering draws in hundreds of competitors and guests each year, although burros are no longer served.
