BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Council, at a Regular Meeting on March 5, 2024, adopted Resolution No. 2024R-12 designating July 30, 2024, as the date for holding a Primary Election in Bullhead City to propose the question of authorizing a permanent adjustment to the 1979-1980 base expenditure limitation for Bullhead City.  Ballot language and frequently asked questions (FAQs) are available from the Bullhead City Clerk’s Office and on the website www.bullheadcity.com, under “Elections.”

There will be no fee assessed in order to submit an argument for the publicity pamphlet associated with the election.  Arguments received by the City will be submitted for inclusion into the publicity pamphlet that will be mailed to the home of each registered voter prior to the election on July 30, 2024. 

In order to submit an argument FOR or AGAINST the measure, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Arguments must include the heading: “Argument FOR Proposition 416” or “Argument AGAINST Proposition 416”, whichever applies. Only one Argument FOR or one argument AGAINST may be included as a single submission.
  1. Arguments must include a sworn statement from the person sponsoring the argument; for organizations submitting arguments, the sworn statement must be from two (2) executive officers; and for political action committees submitting arguments, the sworn statement of the committee chairman or treasurer must be included. The following statement must be included and followed by the signature of the person(s) submitting the argument:

“I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing information is true and correct and I am the sponsor of this argument advocating or opposing this measure, question, or proposition.”

  1. Persons signing the argument must identify themselves by giving their residence address and telephone number. This information will not be posted with the argument unless the submitting party specifically directs in writing with the submission that the contact information be included. The names of the persons and entities submitting written arguments shall be included in the publicity pamphlet.
  1. Arguments are limited to 300 words, not including the required heading or signature block.
  1. Arguments must be prepared in 12 point font in Microsoft Word.
  1. There is no fee required upon submission of each argument.
  1. Arguments are due to the City Clerk by no later than 5:00 p.m., May 1, 2024. The signed version of the argument must be presented to or scanned and submitted electronically to the City Clerk. Electronic signatures are acceptable. The submitter(s) must also submit the “MS Word” version of the argument to the City Clerk.  Arguments are submitted to sstein@bullheadcityaz.gov
  1. Arguments not meeting the specifications outlined above will be returned to the submitting party.  If the due date has not yet passed, the argument may be re-submitted.  Defects noted by the City Clerk after the due date may be remedied and resubmitted within two business days of notification by the City Clerk.
